Terahertz Technology


What is Terahertz radiation?




Terahertz (THz) radiation is the last part of the electromagnetic spectrum to be industrially exploited. Sandwiched between microwaves and infrared, it has many interesting features for industrial applications, for example:

▸ Penetration inside dielectric materials such as plastics, composites, paper, cardboard...

▸ Reflection by metals

▸ Non-ionising, i.e. no radiation protection is needed

Teratonics’ non-destructive evaluation equipment is shown at the Fakuma, integrated into a state-of-the-art injection molding cycle of a foamed part. Come to booth 7303 in hall 7 to see our technology and the insights it gives into the internal part structure. Features like the spatial distribution of the foam can be displayed and the bubble-free production can be checked, also in-line.
